Ireland is currently in the midst of a gastronomic revolution, one that that began ten years ago and which shows no sign of stopping. Indeed, the standard of cuisine today is far superior to that available in the heyday of the Celtic Tiger - diners have become more demanding and want good food at reasonable prices, and they get it. Modern Irish cuisine is creative, eclectic and very much dependent on locally sourced produce - Connemara lamb, Dublin Bay prawns and cheeses such as Gubeen must be sampled.
The city's multi-ethnicity is reflected in the increasing number of Thai and Indian restaurants but wherever you go, you will find a wide selection of eateries, ranging from the casual to the extremely smart.
